The Bank Compliance Department is charged with oversight and coordination of the Compliance program for the U.S Banks (Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association). The candidate will join the department as a member of the Consumer Protection Team and will report to the Head of Licensing and Consumer Compliance. The candidate's duties will include:
Supporting ongoing efforts associated with the U.S. Banks Regulatory Change Management program by providing administrative support in the regulatory change management system and assist with regulatory change management reporting.
Liaising with Bank Compliance Risk Framework, Advisory, and Testing teams on the development and implementation of regulatory requirements from changes to law, rules, regulations that impact the firm.
Conducting ongoing regulatory change management reviews and reporting for Non-Bank/Non-Broker Dealer state licensed entities.
This role will require in office attendance 3 days/week.
Management of the Morgan Stanley Regulatory Change Management system, including creating reports and actioning regulatory developments issued by the federal banking regulators, plus the SEC, CFTC, and NFA for the swap-related activities.
Analysis and communication of regulatory changes that may impact the U.S. Banks.
Execute reporting requirements associated with the Regulatory Change Management program.
Present regulatory developments to Legal, Compliance, and first line business partners. Monitor and communicate laws and regulations that impact the Non-Bank/Non-Broker Dealer state licensing activities.Analysis and communication of regulatory changes that may impact the Non-Bank/Non-Broker Dealer state licensing activities.
Work on special projects as needed.
3-5 years of compliance and/or regulatory experience, with knowledge of the financial service industry, regulatory requirements, and experience in analyzing business risk and best practices.
Familiarity with banking regulations from CFPB, OCC and Federal Reserve including but not limited to ECOA/Regulation B, Fair Housing Act, TILA/Regulation Z, Margin Stock Lending/Regulation U, Fair Credit Reporting Act/Regulation V, FDPA, and UDAAP.
Familiarity with regulations affecting swap dealers.
Excellent written communication skills particularly when drafting communications regarding regulatory changes.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Ability to remain flexible and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong technical skills required to create and maintain reporting and project management tools (e.g. Access, Tableau, Visio, SharePoint, Excel, etc.).Strong sense of ownership regarding work product.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management and/or a similar analytical- quantitative area of study.
