The Washington, D.C. office of McGuireWoods seeks an Associate to join its Financial Services & Securities Enforcement Department.
McGuireWoods’ long history of representation of financial institutions has prepared the firm well to stand with its clients in meeting these multi-faceted and unprecedented challenges. Because we understand the business, our Financial Services Litigation Team is called upon by some of the world’s most prominent financial institutions to meet these challenges. These include all aspects of financial services litigation that may arise, including Ponzi scheme litigation, class actions and high-stakes consumer claims. Within the Washington, D.C. office and throughout our 21 offices, McGuireWoods’ attorneys work collaboratively to vigorously represent and defend their clients.
The McGuireWoods Washington, D.C. office has developed a national practice assisting financial institutions to investigate and defend against Ponzi scheme and fraud litigation. Our Washington, D.C. based team has been on the forefront of litigation involving some of the largest Ponzi schemes in the country over the last decade. We are looking for a midlevel associate to join our team and be an instrumental part of continuing the growth of this exciting practice, including helping to direct litigation and strategy. This means becoming a key part of the team and will include investigating, managing responses to complaints, managing discovery, drafting and arguing motions, taking depositions and helping navigate the case through trial. The cases come in many different forms and can involve mass and class actions as well as litigation brought by trustees and receivers. As a result, the work provides an opportunity to make creative arguments and defend against multi-layered litigation. In addition to the legal work, we are also looking to help guide an associate to learn to build a practice, market themselves, develop new work, and expand the team’s brand.
