As a Quarles Legal Recruiting Manager, your responsibilities will include recruiting lateral attorneys, legal professionals, and emerging legal talent. You will work closely with Practice Group leadership, Office Managing Partners, Recruiting Committees, the team’s director, and our firmwide recruiting team. This position is open in our Chicago, Indianapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Naples, Phoenix, St. Louis, and Tampa offices.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Practice Group Leaders, Office Managing Partners, Practice Group Managers, and hiring partners to drive associate and timekeeper recruiting activities;
Partner with practice group leadership to understand and manage short and long-term talent strategies and needs;
Develop and implement sourcing strategies and best practices to support legal recruitment;
Lead recruiting efforts for each open position in assigned practice groups end-to-end, including but not limited to:
Draft job postings for lateral attorney positions;
Create and manage sourcing strategies for approved openings,
Conduct searches using traditional and creative sourcing methods, including but not limited to: online searches using LinkedIn Recruiter, Leopard, job postings, internal database searches, law schools, referrals, and external search firms,
Contact potential candidates directly,
Screen applicants for appropriate fit,
Track all submissions in viRecruit,
Create interview schedules and collect and review all evaluations,
Ensure that interview processes are thoughtful, high-quality, and professional,
Manage offer approval and extension processes, including drafting offer letters,
Coordinate pre-hire and onboarding tasks, including due diligence
Provide stakeholders proactive updates on active searches;
Manage law student and entry-level recruitment for assigned offices or practice groups;
Work closely with local office leaders to plan, organize, and execute Summer Associate Programs in assigned offices;
Develop effective relationships within the firm and the legal recruitment community to have positive influence and impact on the firm's recruiting programs;
Assist in compiling statistics and producing regular legal recruiting reports;
Monitor current market trends and suggest new practices and programs to improve legal recruitment;
Assist in marketing the firm, practice groups, and the cities in which the firm has offices;
Have thorough understanding of employment laws and provide necessary training on the selection process and interview techniques for Quarles interviewers;
Travel to firm offices, industry events, and recruiting activities as needed
Supervise and direct recruiting administrative support;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in recruiting
Experience in law firm or a professional services organization required
Experience in recruiting Intellectual Property legal professionals in a law firm strongly preferred
Experience supervising administrative support strongly preferred
Ability to understand changing practice/market dynamics and subsequently be creative in finding candidates to fit those parameters
A superior sense of urgency with the demonstrated ability to deliver results
Strong professional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to succeed in fast past environment and adapt to change quickly
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented and highly organized

Enthusiastic about attracting underrepresented attorney, law student applicants
