Alfa Laval Inc. (“Alfa Laval” or the “Company”) has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a General Counsel & Head of Compliance – North America.

Overview: Having a seat on the regional management team and reporting to the North America Managing Director/Cluster President, with a dotted reporting line to the Group Legal & Compliance, this position is the primary source of legal and compliance support to regional entities and functions of Alfa Laval’s operations in the North American Cluster – including United States and Canada. The position will work in close cooperation with Alfa Laval’s global legal and compliance colleagues as well as the regional management team.

Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 7-10+ years of progressively responsible experience as a practicing attorney with a strong generalist legal foundation, including transactional, M&A, business, and commercial law expertise. Experience resolving disputes and claims; handling export control, trade sanctions and compliance matters; and some familiarity with digital transformation is preferred.

Location: Richmond, VA. This is an in-office role on a hybrid schedule and remote candidates will not be considered.

Relocation: Yes, but local candidates are preferred.

Travel: This role will involve periodic domestic and international travel.

Compensation: Competitive base and bonus, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits.

Bar: Currently licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with ability to become licensed in Virginia within six months of hire.
