Company:Founded in 1954, Mortenson is a top 25 builder and developer with footprints all over the country. Mortenson has operations across North America with offices in Chicago, Denver, Fargo, Iowa City, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and in Canada. Mortenson performs development and construction services for a variety of projects in the corporate, data center, performing arts, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, public, and retail sectors. Some of its notable development projects include Arizona State University Mullett Arena, Hyatt Regency at the Oregon Convention Center, and Discovery Square life sciences buildings in Rochester, Minnesota.
Overview: Responsible for working collaboratively with team members and leaders at all levels of the Company and providing practical, solution-oriented proactive legal support and advice for employment matters, including employee relations, employment policies, human resources issues, and compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
Experience: 7+ years relevant legal experience either in-house and/or with a law firm, with emphasis on employment law issues including problem solving, negotiation and dispute resolution, and advising on federal and state employment laws in all states, including Title VII, ADEA, and ADA. Ideal candidates will have experience with unionized workforces and relevant labor laws.
Location/Relocation: Minneapolis, MN.
Compensation: Competitive base and bonus, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits, including a sabbatical program and vehicle incentive plan.
Bar: Currently licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with ability to become licensed in Minnesota within six months of hire.
