Overview: The Associate Dean for Professional Development and Career Strategies is a senior leadership position functioning as part of the Dean’s “cabinet” of advisors and responsible for a fundamental operation of the law school. This position will oversee the ongoing enhancement of the law school’s programs, from a strategic and long-term perspective. The core responsibilities of this position typically include providing direction, oversight, and management of a major function within an organization, typically including multiple units or programs within a school, developing a vision and strategic plan that fosters the development of policies and programming within the purview, that support the missions of the school and university, and creating an environment of collaboration and serve as a liaison between other departments and programs at GW. This position is responsible for all Career Center strategies, staffing, and activities, as well as relations between the Career Center and all other units within the law school, including the faculty. The Associate Dean for Professional Development and Career Strategies is the person responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of our “whole school” approach to maximizing employment outcomes for our JD graduates.
Experience: 8+ years of relevant professional experience, with strong knowledge of a broad range of legal career employment opportunities in local, regional, and national job markets. Ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of career development issues affecting law students, lawyers, and the legal profession in private, public interest, and public service sectors.
Location/Relocation: Washington, D.C.

Credentials: JD from an ABA-accredited law school or relevant Master’s degree.
