Overview: The Vice President and General Counsel of the College will serve as the principal legal advisor for the College, with overall responsibility for the vision and leadership of the College’s legal strategy. Reporting to the President and as a valued member of the senior leadership team and a key strategic advisor, the Vice President and General Counsel of the College will provide legal advice and counsel to the President, Board of Trustees, and other members of the College community on all legal and other significant matters affecting the College and its stakeholders. Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of legal experience with a solid and broad-based understanding of matters related to higher education law, including employment law, labor relations, ADA, VAWA, FERPA, Title IX, and Clery. This individual will have extensive experience interacting with senior leadership and boards of trustees with varied interests and areas of responsibility as well as an ability to exercise sound judgment on challenging and sophisticated legal issues and act with the highest ethics, integrity, and professionalism. Experience in higher education law is required.
