Suntex Marinas (“the Company”) has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a General Counsel.
Company: Suntex Marinas engages in the ownership and management of marina properties and is one of the largest and most respected marina operators in the country. Private equity and management owned, Suntex owns, operates, and manages approximately 100 marina properties in the United States, leveraging its ownership and management platforms to provide leadership within the marina sector and to acquire institutional quality marinas to enhance customer experience.
Overview: The General Counsel will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will support the scaling and growth of the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Counsel's primary responsibility will be to lead a team of high-performing legal and compliance professionals and oversee all legal matters within the Company.
Experience: The successful candidate will have at least fifteen (15) years of broad-based legal experience, including serving as a general counsel in a similarly sized or larger company. The ideal candidate will have a mix of sophisticated law firm and in-house experience. There is a strong preference for real estate, REIT, and fundraising experience. Alternatively, experience leading the legal department of a growth-oriented, private equity-owned portfolio company will be considered.
Location: Dallas, TX. This is not a remote role.
