Position Overview: Reporting to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, and working closely with the Global Compliance Department, the Head of US Legal & US Compliance Officer is responsible for all (non-IP) legal matters in the region, including providing legal and strategic advice to the US commercial leadership team and other stakeholders in the Company, reviewing promotional materials and other significant product-related communications, and drafting and reviewing contracts across a range of commercial transactions. The US Compliance Officer is also responsible for driving Bavarian Nordic’s US Compliance Committee and for developing, implementing, and managing a risk-based US compliance program by identifying and managing legal & compliance risks on the US market, developing written policies and procedures, and providing advice and training on the Company’s legal and compliance policies.
Experience: 8+ years of direct experience supporting pharmaceutical or biotech companies, in an in-house corporate counsel role with ideally some experience working at a law firm. Extensive knowledge/experience is needed in promotional materials regulations and review., and ideal candidates will have experience drafting commercial contracts and advising on commercial and medical activities, regulatory matters, and compliance issues.
Location: This a remote position in the US (EST time zone preferred).
Compensation: $245-275k + 18% bonus + LTI.
Bar: Currently licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
