Overview: The University of Kansas Health System (“TUKHS”), in collaboration with the University of Kansas, is seeking an attorney with research experience working in the areas of health law and life sciences, for the position of Associate General Counsel – Clinical Research primarily working out of the University of Kansas Medical Center campus.

Experience: The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in a law firm and/or an in-house legal department (a combination is preferred) with substantial experience in research laws. Candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent negotiation and organizational skills, and will be well-versed in dispute resolution and contract analysis. Healthcare expertise with knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations including, but not limited to: FDA, HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, False Claims Act, and Federal Anti-Kickback Statute is preferred. Experience drafting complex transactional documents and proven ability and experience in negotiating research, professional services, and other agreements with pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions, industry, hospitals and health systems, and government agencies is a clear advantage.

Location/Relocation: Kansas City, KS. This is a national search.
