Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Attorney, Digital Security within the Global Law Services Group at John Deere, you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel to the Deere organization on digital security matters, including data security requirements, the security of connected devices and machines, and the digital security of Deere suppliers and other third parties.
Serve as the lead legal counsel to the Chief Information Security Officer and the IT Security organization.
Serve as a member of and provide legal counsel to the company’s cybersecurity incident response team.
Interact, as necessary, with government agencies/officials on data security matters.
Provide legal counsel in support of Deere’s vulnerability disclosure programs.
Provide legal counsel regarding cyber insurance matters.
Draft and negotiate digital security-related terms in agreements.
Partner with other attorneys in advising Deere’s Information Technology group and Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) business.
Partner with Deere’s Public Affairs team to identify and review upcoming regulations potentially impacting digital security matters.
Provide research, legal counsel, and recommendations regarding digital security matters.
Develop and execute training on digital security legal matters to groups of various sizes to drive continuous improvement and to ensure compliance with various requirements.
Stay current on emerging trends in the law through continuing legal education, reading, professional conferences, and participating in professional associations.

What Skills You Need
6 or more years of experience in the general practice of law in a private law firm, corporate law department, or government agency.
4 or more years of experience advising on digital security, cybersecurity, or data security matters
Experience advising on data security incidents.
Experience advising on domestic and international data security and data privacy laws.
Experience advising an IT or IT security organization.
Experience providing data security training, such as data security tabletop exercises
If working remotely, the ability to travel domestically up to 15%.

Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other IT-related disciplines
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission or eligibility to be admitted to practice law by full admission or as in-house counsel in Illinois/Iowa and/or required jurisdiction.
