Mayo Clinic’s Legal Department is seeking highly motivated candidates for the Contract Manager position. Candidates for this position shall have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in managing complex contracts independently within a team environment.
The Contract Manager is responsible for contract development, review, analysis and negotiation of complex contractual arrangements across all of Mayo Clinic. Ensures contract compliance with current law/regulations and Mayo's policies, procedures and practices. Independently manages a large number of simultaneous contract negotiations between Mayo Clinic and external parties, which includes resolving conflicting interests and objectives, assisting in the development of negotiation strategies, identifying areas of risk, and offering alternatives for management of such risk. Provides consultation and guidance to Mayo Clinic internal clients including administrators, providers, business development, other contract departments, and other internal parties with respect to contract matters. Participates in process improvement initiatives, special projects, and development of educational resources.
A portion of this position will focus their time on complex commercial and real estate transactions and agreements, including leases and purchases and sales of real property. The ideal candidate will have contracting experience in commercial transactions, real estate, consulting and service agreements, and/or health care related agreements. Additional duties of the Contract Manager may vary based on department needs.

*This position is telework and may require intermittent time at one of our Mayo Clinic sites in AZ, FL, Rochester, MN or Eau Claire WI. Individual must live within driving distance to one of the Mayo Clinic sites.

Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in business or law with a minimum of five years of related experience in contract management/negotiations. A J.D. degree may be substituted for required experience. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience required.
Minimum of five years work with increasing responsibilities/experience dealing with contract management/negotiations. Working knowledge of business and contract law. Contracting experience in commercial and real property transactions is strongly preferred. Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills, exceptional communication abilities, self-directed, ability to work independently with the capacity to manage multiple priorities. Must be able to compose business contract terms and language, including redlining agreements for counter negotiation and inclusion in contracts. Strong analytical skills needed for analysis of complex contracting arrangements, mediating and resolving issues relating to contract negotiation. Ingenuity, judgment and creativity are needed to perform this job combined with good planning and organizational skills.
