The attorney filling this position will play a critical role in helping Mayo Clinic succeed in this endeavor.
This position will be responsible for leading health care business transactions while providing related legal advice and counsel for a world-class, non-profit, academic medical center and affiliated health care system. We are seeking an experienced, solution-oriented attorney who is comfortable leading legal work streams on highly complex transactions, collaborating with Mayo Clinic business partners and leaders to address challenging transactional issues, and taking ownership of a broad range of matters from inception to conclusion.
The position will manage complex technology and data transactions in support of Mayo Clinic’s strategic initiatives. Experience with health care transactions and complex data/privacy issues (including familiarity with agreements involving the use of health care data) is preferred.
This position requires a committed but humble leader who will coordinate across the Legal Department to deliver exceptional legal services and clear and concise counsel on complex questions throughout the life of a transaction. This position will retain and manage outside counsel and lead and participate in teams of attorneys and paraprofessionals.
Qualifications: Requires completion of law school and, preferably, five or more years of business transaction experience. A strong academic background, as well as excellent communication and writing skills, are required. Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple client relationships and understand and help meet their clients’ needs and business goals. Candidates should have sound legal project management skills, the ability to effectively lead teams, serve as a positive change agent, and delegate work in a fast- paced, team-based environment within a dynamic organization.Â
