Position: The Chief Counsel will lead the legal activities for the Company across patents and trade secrets globally. They will identify business needs and design, develop, and drive the implementation of Mondelez’s intellectual property (“IP”) strategy through the service delivery model and governance to support commercial and corporate initiatives. The Chief Counsel will lead and advise the business on IP risk, anticipating and addressing both internal and external factors as well as direct other legal colleagues in the execution of Mondelez’s IP approach and decide direction to address legal issues or concerns. Additionally, the Chief Counsel will (a) directly lead a team of patent professionals (including two patent attorneys), (b) serve as a co-lead (along with the Chief Counsel, Trademarks) of the Global IP Team to ensure a cohesive IP strategy while growing and protecting the Company’s brands and underlying IP; and (c) be responsible for thought leadership as it relates to the delivery of patent and trade secret legal services to the Company globally.

Experience: The successful candidate will have at least ten (10) years of experience practicing as a Patent legal advisor in-house and at a law firm, including managing a team and advising on patent legal issues in a multinational legal department across a variety of jurisdictions. A BSc or higher degree in physical science or engineering is preferred. Admission to the USPTO is required.

Location: East Hanover, NJ (Hybrid).

Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in New Jersey or eligible to become licensed as in-house counsel in New Jersey.
