Description: This is an executive-level position for someone with 10+ years’ experience. As a member of the Litigation Group’s team this is an employment litigation position to focus primarily on class action employment litigation, single-plaintiff matters, and PAGA claims. Most of this work will arise from California matters, but this attorney may also manage employment litigation matters in other markets. This attorney may have the opportunity to work on strategic labor and employment projects.
The position works closely with other members of the Litigation Practice Group, the Labor & Employment Practice Group and members of the Practice Management Team, Hospital and Health Plan Senior Leadership, and other healthcare providers.
Relos: Yes (depending on experience).
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, includes base salary + significant bonus, and pension plan.
Location: Northern or Southern California (currently a 100% remote position).
Principal Responsibilities
Manage outside counsel in employment litigation matters, single-plaintiff, class action, and PAGA matters. Experience in California wage and hour preferred.
Advise internal clients regarding defense, settlement, and trial of employment litigation matters.
Attend mediations as key authorized representative of KP.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience litigating or managing the litigation of class action and single plaintiff cases.
Juris Doctor required.
California bar license or willingness to obtain such license within two years.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of Twelve (12) + years of experience litigating or managing the litigation of single-plaintiff and class action matters.
Class Action experience in wage and hour, fair pay, Title VII or FEHA claims preferred.
Trial experience.
Interest in/familiarity with e-discovery trends and developments.
Ability to manage portfolio of employment litigation matters with high degree of independence.
Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in most or all of the above-referenced areas.
