Venable LLP’s Cybersecurity Group seeks a Cybersecurity Services Analyst to join the practice in the Washington, D.C. office.
The qualified candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree and one to three years of directly relevant professional and/or internship experience is preferred. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple projects covering different aspects of our advisory model, and to manage rapidly-changing assignments. The successful candidate is intellectually curious, possesses strong presentation and communications skills (both verbally and written), and has the ability to understand, assess, and articulate complex business, market, policy, and/or technical issues. Experience with and an understanding of the cybersecurity market and security risk management is required. Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
The policy analyst primarily coordinates and tracks projects and keeps team members apprised of project status and deadlines. A typical day may include assisting clients with cybersecurity risk assessment and incident response, conducting studies focused on bringing new offerings to the market, and coordinating policy efforts with leading companies and government to drive better cybersecurity outcomes. Initially, the analyst will play a supporting role, but over time, opportunities to lead aspects of client engagement may arise.
