The FMR LLC Legal Department is seeking to hire a senior attorney to join the Asset Management, Portfolio Investments Legal team supporting the Fidelity High Income and Alternatives Division.  In this role, you will provide counsel to High Income and Alternatives Division in relation to the legal and regulatory issues associated with investments made and transactions entered into on behalf of Fidelity’s funds and clients, with a particular emphasis on supporting the new Direct Lending Group.  Provide all aspects of legal support to new direct lending platform and, on an as needed basis, support other assets classes, including distressed debt, special situation and real estate investments.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• J.D with 8+ years’ relevant experience as a practicing attorney, including:  origination of direct loans, securities laws, special situations, bankruptcy, distressed debt, real estate and leveraged loan trading experience.
• Law firm or equivalent experience required.
• Experience must include senior responsibility for directing and being accountable for structuring, reviewing, negotiating, and facilitating complex investments.
• Experience with the’40 Act, Advisers Act, 33’ Act and 34’ Act .
• Strong contract negotiation skills required.
