The Associate Director position is in the Office of Derivatives Policy and Trading Practices (ODPTP) within the Division of Trading and Markets. This position is located in Washington, DC and is open to US citizens.

Duties

Typical duties include:

• Serving as the primary agency advisor on various programs and events involving derivatives policy and trading practices.
• Counseling senior management staff and officials at multiple levels of the Commission and other Federal, state, and local government agencies; and private sector clients and vendors on program matters.
• Advising on the appropriate methods and techniques to use in order to achieve program goals and objectives. And participating in policy determinations on decisions in matters concerned with Division programs and presents recommendations to the Commission.
• Assuming responsible for policy determinations in matters relating to the Office's responsibilities and presenting to the Director/Deputy Directors recommendations relating to these matters. When necessary, initiating and facilitating coordination with the Directors, Deputy Directors, Associate Directors and other senior Commission officials to determine and develop regulatory policies regarding the subject matter of the Office affecting broad segments of the securities industry.
• Contacting, advising, and collaborating with senior officials such as agency heads, top congressional staff officials, state executives, legislative leaders, and/or executives of comparable private sector organizations as required and related to the subject matter of the Office.

Conditions of Employment

• You must possess a J.D. or LL.B Degree.
• You must be an active member of the bar in good standing.
