Major Lindsey & Africa has been exclusively retained by NiSource to conduct a search for a Senior Counsel. Energizing the lives of nearly 4 million customers, with revenues of approximately $5B, NiSource (NYSE: NI) is a leading natural gas and electric utility company. The Company’s over 7,500 employees ensure Columbia Gas and NIPSCO customers have the energy they need across six states.

The Senior Counsel will be responsible for resolving legal issues and providing proactive, business-savvy legal support for general litigation and claims management. This person will have interaction and influence with all levels of the organization, including executive management, on a wide range of litigation, claims and risk management issues. The Senior Counsel will retain and manage outside counsel on various litigation matters, as well as counsel business clients in revenue recovery, credit, and collections matters. This is a key role in the litigation function of the Company. The successful candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal department handling a variety of litigation matters. Experience in the utility industry or other regulated industry is preferred.

Although this is a remote position, the ideal candidate will be located within the NiSource service territory and close to a Company facility. Columbus, OH, metropolitan Chicago, Pittsburgh, PA, Lexington, KY, and Richmond, VA are the ideal geographic locations.
