The Senior Vice President, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer (“CECO”) is primarily responsible for overseeing, developing and driving the highest level of ethics and compliance within the Company; ensuring compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures; and continuously enhancing the Company’s reporting systems and internal controls intended to allow the executive management team and the Board of Directors to identify and take action with respect to any areas of opportunity. Reporting for administrative purposes to the EVP, Secretary and General Counsel and also to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, the CECO establishes standards and implements procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the Company are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies. The CECO will also coordinate the Internal Audit Assurance function of the Company, and will provide leadership to the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management activities.
Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) is on the front lines of delivering health care services and retail products to over one million Americans daily, providing an array of whole being health products and services for the entire family through over 2,500 retail pharmacy locations across 17 states. In addition, through Elixir, the Company’s pharmacy benefits manager, Rite Aid provides pharmacy benefits and services to over three million members nationwide.

In August 2019, Heyward Donigan joined the Company as Chief Executive Officer and has since developed the Company’s new strategy focused on expanding the clinical role of the pharmacist, establishing Elixir as a differentiated market leader, and renewing the retail and digital experience. Since joining the Company as CEO, she has recruited new executive and senior leadership teams. During the same time, the Board of Directors of the Company has been refreshed.
A competitive compensation package, consisting of a base salary, bonus and equity, will be offered for this position, consistent with the candidate’s level of experience and principles of internal equity.
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.
JD from an accredited law school preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate compliance required.
Experience in a compliance leadership role of a publicly traded company in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences or retail sectors.
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or commensurate experience.
This is a national search with the flexibility to work remotely.
