Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking to hire an Associate to join our Commercial Lending practice group in the Banking and Financial Services Department.  This position will be based in the Chicago office.  The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience representing lenders in commercial lending transactions at a law firm, bank or other finance company.

Specific examples of desired experience and prior or current representations include the following:

• Representing lenders in commercial finance transactions, in particular, secured and unsecured bank and private equity fund lending from origination through documentation.
• Advising banks, private equity funds and other financial institutions in documenting credit transactions.
• Working familiarity with UCC Article 9 and mortgage and property law.

Strong communication and client relations skills and the ability to simultaneously handle multiple transactions are essential.  The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, analytical and writing skills, superior academic credentials as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.  Candidates must be members in good standing or eligible to waive in to the Illinois Bar.
