Why it matters: As our Commercial Counsel, you will be the second member of our Legal team and will have the opportunity to make a big impact at a fast-growing company. Go deeper: We are looking for a self-driven and experienced attorney who will be responsible for: - Negotiating contracts such as licensing, partnership, event, advertising, sales, services, consulting, vendor, and data processing agreements
- Creating and optimizing contract templates, playbooks, and processes
- Advising on a wide range of legal issues including marketing, privacy, data security, consumer protection, IP, and general corporate matters
- Helping manage IP portfolio
- Staying up-to-date on laws and developments relevant to media and tech industry
The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills: - At least five years’ relevant work experience at a law firm and in-house legal department
- Skilled drafter, practical problem solver, and eagle-eyed issue spotter
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to participate in all projects
- Ability to balance and prioritize competing demands
- Ability to weigh and balance legal and business risks
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly
- Ability to exercise good judgment and a high level of integrity
- Media company experience preferred
