We have a couple of exciting opportunities to join our Law Department, where we embrace Mattel’s values and goals by providing thoughtful and timely advice to all Mattel business functions around the world. The positions will be based at Corporate Headquarters in El Segundo, California (though it is currently remote due to Covid-19).
Expert Counsel / Senior Director, Employment Law
The Expert Counsel / Senior Director, Employment Law, will lead the global employment function of the Mattel Law Department. The position will support a wide range of business clients within Mattel while focusing on employment advice and litigation, employee training, and internal investigations. The position is responsible for an extensive and varied employment practice, interacts regularly with C-level executives, the Law Department and the Human Resources Department (including all levels of HR business partners and the Chief People Officer).
The Senior Director, Global Ethics & Compliance, will lead the global Ethics & Compliance function at Mattel. In addition to responsibility for compliance processes at Mattel, the Senior Director will help ensure that Mattel’s business operates in accordance with laws and regulations, as well as Company policies and procedures designed to prevent illegal or unethical business practices, at all levels and in all locations.
The Expert Counsel, Privacy, Advertising & Marketing is a key position within the Law Department that will lead the international team that is primarily responsible for legal advice in the areas of: data privacy and security; advertising and marketing; and content Standards & Practices, among other responsibilities.
The Counsel, Location Based Entertainment is a part of the Legal and Business Affairs division. Duties will include providing strategic legal and business support to Mattel’s entertainment group with primary focus and responsibility for managing and negotiating agreements for live events, attractions and other location-based entertainment deals throughout the world for a broad range of Mattel brands. This position may evolve over time as Mattel’s business and legal needs change and may include legal and business affairs deal support beyond traditional location-based entertainment work – such as content production, consumer products licensing, television and new media distribution, and agency and marketing work.
