Position Overview: The Associate General Counsel, Head of Privacy is the lead privacy attorney for CARFAX.  This person is responsible for supporting a rapidly growing business by partnering with and advising business teams on privacy, data security and regulatory requirements related to CARFAX’s international business.  The position represents an excellent opportunity to make substantial contributions to a dynamic and thriving business as a Head of Privacy, and to develop into wider compliance responsibilities.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of providing sound, clear and concise analysis and recommendations to management teams and being a creative problem solver, applying sound business and legal judgment in an innovative industry.  The position reports to the General Counsel.  This role allows the freedom to work from anywhere in the United States.

Experience: 7+ years of legal experience, a significant portion of which was with a law firm with increasing responsibility and strong and extensive experience across the substantive legal areas relevant to privacy and data security, including but not limited to GDPR and CCPA. Candidates with law firm experience only welcomed. 

Compensation: Competitive base and bonus, with a small equity grant.

Location: Flexible. Remote working with occasional travel, or Centreville, VA (DC suburb).

Bar: Candidates must currently be licensed to practice law in Virginia or currently eligible to be admitted under a Virginia Corporate Counsel Certificate.
