General Counsel – Commercial US

Overview: The primary role of the General Counsel – Commercial US is to provide legal advice and support to members of the US business unit. This role reports directly to the Region General Counsel of North America and has two direct reports who are attorneys. The General Counsel - Commercial US is responsible for providing a broad range of legal services to members of the business unit, with a significant focus on consumer products, advertising/marketing, ecommerce, privacy, brand regulatory, food and real estate law, corporate documentation, contract drafting and negotiation, and general advice and consultation. Company: The Ferrero Group is a private, family-owned manufacturer of branded chocolate and confectionery products and is the third largest confectionery company in the world. It was founded in 1946 in Piedmont, Italy and expanded to the US market in 1969 through its renowned product Tic Tac mints. The U.S. headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey distributes the company’s Tic Tac® mints, Ferrero Rocher® pralines and Nutella® hazelnut spread. Ferrero’s worldwide revenues are $11B and its revenues in the US are $581.7M. Compensation: A competitive compensation package, consisting of a base salary and bonus, will be offered for this position, consistent with the candidate’s level of experience. Relocation: Local/regional candidates preferred. Experience: 8 plus years of legal experience at a leading law firm, in-house or preferably a combination of both. Expertise with consumer products, advertising and marketing law, privacy law, IT and real estate, and drafting, reviewing and negotiating various contracts required. Experience with food law is desirable but not required.
