Frontdoor seeks a talented, energetic, entrepreneurial and self-motivated attorney with at least 2 years of relevant legal experience to serve as Corporate Counsel. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel. The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for handling a wide range of matters related to the growth, operation and further development of the company’s augmented reality communications platform, in addition to other privacy and technology-related matters. The ideal candidate will have experience and familiarity with privacy laws and principles, and be comfortable with technology-focused transactions. This role requires a strong interest in working within a dynamic, fast-paced technology-focused environment common to start-ups, and the ability to work hand-in-hand within a cross-functional team on a daily basis.
This position will be based at the company's office in Memphis, TN or Denver, CO, or remotely from a virtual office with occasional travel.
The ideal candidate will have experience and familiarity with privacy laws and principles, and be comfortable with technology-focused transactions. J.D. with at least 2 years legal experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department handling corporate and transactional matters, although willing to consider strong candidates with other experiences;
Experience in Internet, digital or technology law, intellectual property transactions, complex regulatory environments and/or as a corporate generalist, is a strong plus;
Must be tech-savvy and possess a strong willingness to learn;
Top academic record and large firm experience preferred;
Creative problem solver with customer focus and “can do” attitude;
Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines within a changing, fast paced environment;
Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Possess strong issue identification and problem-solving skills; and
Good standing in a state bar with the ability to join the Tennessee (or other relevant state) bar as in-house counsel.
