Major, Lindsey & Africa has an immediate need for an Assistant General Counsel of Transactions at a Pharmaceutical/ Life Sciences Company.
Overview: A clinical stage biotechnology company is seeking to hire an experienced Corporate Counsel to assist the General Counsel in the provision of general corporate legal work. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of law firm and/or in-house experience in the Pharmaceutical/ Life Sciences space, handling Commercial Transactions and exposure to Clinical Trial Agreements.
Company: A Biotechnology Company developing pharmaceuticals for infections diseases.
Experience: At least 10 years of In-House AND/OR Law Firm Experience
Location: Yonkers, New York.
Lead corporate transactions function
Independently draft, review and/or negotiate wide scope of business agreements including confidential disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, master service agreements, service agreements, clinical trial agreements, and joint development agreements
Provide strategic advice on commercial transactional matters
Assist with development, implementation and improvement of systems to support the contract lifecycle management process
Assist in business development due diligence
Additional general legal (non-transactional) responsibilities as assigned
J.D. from an accredited law school and admittance to the New York State bar.
Minimum 10 years in-house international corporate transactional/commercial contracts experience (specifically, ex-US clinical trial agreement experience) in pharma/life-sciences company
Organized and detail oriented; successfully able to manage and prioritize multiple projects within short time frames
Excellent writing and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills (including a sense of humor) and the ability to work well and respectfully in a team setting
High degree of creativity and initiative
Results oriented while achieving results with speed and excellence; eliminating unnecessary work; adding value to the organization by motivating others to action; holding self and others accountable
Sound legal and business judgment
