Provide practical, proactive legal advice on a broad range of employment practice topics, including performance management, employee discipline and separations, workplace investigations, severance programs, leaves of absence and accommodations, recruiting and hiring, benefits, wage and hour, compensation, employment and separation agreements, unemployment and workers' compensation, and immigration issues.
Prepare and deliver training materials regarding employment best practices and perform quarterly audits.
As needed, consult on international employment issues
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and share that knowledge across various teams, including educating other members of the Legal and Human Resources Department.
Review and maintain Compliance programs that are HR related, including but not limited to Affirmative Action plans, EEO compliance, Veteran Reporting, payroll and labor compliance and assist HR department to implement such as necessary, etc.
Assist with various complex and/or sensitive projects, as assigned.
This position reports to the Head Counsel. This position will work actively with internal clients in the Human Resources Department and requires ability to travel up to 10%.
J.D. degree (from accredited law school) and membership in good standing of California Bar Association
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the areas of labor and employment law with inside counsel work a plus
