McKesson Corp is a Fortune 7 company and is one of the largest providers of medicines, pharmaceutical supplies and health information technology (IT) products and services in the United States with revenues of $208.4 billion in 2018. The company was founded in 1833 by John McKesson and Charles Olcott in New York with a focus on importing and wholesaling pharmaceutical products.
We’re in an era of unprecedented complexity in healthcare. Patient care is not where it should be. While many of the organizations delivering the care need to get much healthier, too. This is why our vision is to improve care in every setting — one product, one partner, one patient at a time. And we’re making this happen every day by touching virtually every aspect of healthcare. We partner with biopharma companies, care providers, pharmacies, manufacturers, governments and others to deliver the right medicines, medical products and healthcare services to the patients who need them, when they need them — safely and cost-effectively.
United by our ICARE values, our 78,000 employees work together every day to make better care possible for patients around the globe.
McKesson is looking for a talented, experienced, and charismatic unicorn to join our team of legal operations superheroes. At McKesson, we call our team “General Counsel Operations,” because the operations team is part of McKesson’s General Counsel Organization (GCO), which also includes not only legal, but also compliance, public affairs, and our corporate governance and transactions teams – a total of around 400 talented employees across the United States, Canada, and Europe. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where we can all be our authentic selves, and where we can harness the power of diverse perspectives to create the best decisions.
Reporting to the SVP of GCO Operations, the Director will help execute the strategic roadmap and drive the continuous improvement of the GCO Operations Team, both as an individual contributor and as the manager of a small Project Management Office (PMO) team. The ideal candidate must have flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, business drivers, and organizational needs. She, he or they must have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization, including IT, HR and Finance – always leveraging warmth, tact, and an aptitude for cultivating strong relationships.
Key areas of focus or responsibility include:
Tracking progress against the GCO Operations roadmap, ensuring the roadmap stays up to date, and helping to communicate the roadmap to others
Owning the program calendar for the GCO Operations team, and building checkpoints to ensure all deadlines are met and initiatives are undertaken in a timely manner
Assisting with the execution of strategic operations initiatives such as onboarding, communications, metrics, engagement, training, and the creation of a “GCO Operations Playbook”
Analyzing various monthly financial and non-financial reporting packages, summarizing key trends or critical developments, and helping to prepare executive reporting dashboards
Assisting with the preparation of executive presentations for budgets, leadership team meetings, and other strategic initiatives
Analyzing operational functions to help build more efficient, more effective, and more repeatable core processes and workflows
Managing PMO and docketing resources focused on logistical projects and operational infrastructure
Working directly with other GCO teams and GCO leaders to identify operational project needs, gather background and requirements, and prepare information for discussion and planning with the head of GCO operations
