Position Overview: The General Counsel will report directly to the CEO and serve as a member of the Executive team and will also work with the Corporate Governance Committee. The General Counsel shall serve the interests of CFCU, independent of any director, officer, employee or member of CFCU. S/he shall have the primary responsibility to assure the implementation and maintenance of an effective legal compliance system within the credit union.
Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of legal experience within a corporation, law firm, or some combination. Experience with financial institution regulatory matters, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management is required. The candidate should also have some exposure to employment law, privacy, contracts, and other relevant areas of law.
Compensation: Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
Location: Oakton, Virginia.
Relos: Local candidates are strongly preferred.
