The Corporate and M&A Counsel will provide substantial ongoing support for Ascend’s corporate mergers and acquisitions activities, and will also have primary day-to-day responsibility for managing the legal support of key Ascend business units.
As somebody with transactional expertise, you will provide end-to-end support for Ascend’s active and far-reaching M&A program, working closely with Ascend’s corporate development team and members of senior management. In your role as primary counsel for designated Ascend businesses, you will work closely with a broad range of internal clients and help drive successful outcomes across a variety of critical legal and business support areas, from complex customer contract negotiations and strategic collaborations to technology licensing agreements, regulatory compliance initiatives, employment matters, and more.

Seven to ten years of legal experience at a top tier law firm, including extensive M&A experience and a proven track record of negotiating commercial contracts, strategic collaborations, and technology licensing arrangements in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Preferred candidates will also have some experience providing legal support in areas such as employment law, real estate, and litigation. In house experience a plus but not required. Creative problem-solving skills and strong business acumen is required. Must be team-oriented and values-driven.
