Combined Properties, Incorporated (“Combined Properties” or “the Company”) has exclusively retained Major, Lindsey & Africa to conduct a search for a Deputy General Counsel, to be located in its Washington, D.C. office.
Overview: Combined Properties is seeking an accomplished legal professional to join its team as the Deputy General Counsel. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Deputy General Counsel is responsible for rendering advice and counsel to the Chairman, President/CEO, Board of Directors and senior management on all matters affecting the legal rights and obligations of the corporation and affiliated entities. This position is intended as a succession planning position for the current General Counsel, who is retiring at the end of 2019, and will work very closely with the General Counsel. The General Counsel is a member of the Executive Committee and participates in formulating corporate policy, goals, and strategy. The General Counsel is responsible for managing the legal department, corporate human resources function, Washington, D.C. office administration, and records management.
Experience: 10+ years of broad-based legal experience, with a prominent law firm or sophisticated corporate legal department, dealing with a variety of corporate, partnership, commercial real estate, landlord/tenant (commercial and residential), employment, and environmental law matters. The successful candidate will also have experience with commercial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and civil litigation. Must have demonstrated ability to manage diverse departments within budget, and to achieve corporate goals and objectives established by business partners.
