Overview: Amyris is seeking an experienced, well-rounded IP attorney who will pitch in wherever necessary to assist the Company to execute its ambitious goals. Reporting to the VP, IP Legal, this attorney will work closely with other members of the Amyris Legal Team (including the General Counsel); draft and prosecute biotechnology-related patent applications; manage the IP portfolio; work closely with the R&D team to harvest patentable inventions; manage outside counsel; draft, review and negotiate agreements; and coordinate on all IP matters with transverse partners across the Company.

Location: Emeryville, CA (Bay Area)
Relocation: This is a national search but local candidates preferred.
Experience: 8-15+ years of broad intellectual property law experience including time at a top-tier law firm and at least 3 years of in-house experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, cosmetics or consumer products industries. An advanced degree in the life sciences is preferred. USPTO certification is preferred.
