Committed to providing a competitive compensation package and values pay equity. Starting salary for this role will fall into one of three ranges, depending on your location:
National market (most U.S. states): $251,400 - $377,000
Moderate market (Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and D.C. metro areas: $274,000 – $411,200
High Market (New York City and San Francisco metro areas): $301,600 - $452,400
Starting salary will be based on geographic location, depth, and breadth of relevant experience, and ensuring pay equity within the organization. Please note the above geographic areas are examples and not a complete list. Each candidate’s placement within this structure will be confirmed.

The CLCO leads strategic initiatives, navigating risk management, legal challenges, and compliance issues to drive the organization's success and innovation. This role involves advising the Board of Directors and executive teams on legal strategies and risk management. Additionally, the CLCO supports Board management alongside the CEO and Chief of Staff, ensuring proper oversight and recordkeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Legal Affairs, Compliance, and Risk Management.
Provide strategic advice and support to the Board of Directors and senior leadership.
Oversee the organizational resilience program, including crisis management, enterprise risk management, risk mitigation working group, and safety and security programs.
Manage the compliance and insurance programs.
Oversee internal and external investigations.
Collaborate with the Chief People Officer on employment law issues.
Serve as the Network's Assistant Corporate Secretary and its affiliates' Corporate Secretary.
Serve as a liaison to the Audit and Risk and Nominating and Governance Committees.
Lead and motivate high-performing legal and compliance teams.
Manage outside counsel and consultants.
Manage corporate records.

Education and Experience:
Previous Chief Legal & Compliance Officer or General Counsel experience preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit governance and nonprofit tax laws is preferred.
