Developing substantive programs and recruiting, selecting, and managing faculty for live and virtual ACC Education events;
Securing and developing practical, user-friendly legal resources for ACC members throughout the world; and
Providing legal advice and services to ACC relating to its own operations and activities, as needed.
Assume lead responsibility and/or collaborate with other ACC programs stakeholders for creating and developing the substantive programming of whole or part of key ACC educational events:
Manage advisory boards for various ACC Education programs or program tracks, including, but not limited to, the ACC Corporate Counsel University and the ACC Mid-Year Meeting;
Identify strategic topics, define sessions’ goals and format (to this effect and among other channels, attend ACC and/or non-ACC events to assess potential topics and formats),
Conduct faculty outreach and selection campaign,
Oversee panels’ preparation work and provide guidance to panels, as requested,
Participate in onsite management of events implementation; and
Supervise independent consultants and/or consultants engaged to provide administrative and or/substantive content assistance.
Manage development of ACC’s substantive Webcast curriculum.
Develop and formalize ACC Webcast curriculum management goals and processes; and
Supervise ACC Webcast Manager with regard to substantive issues.
In order to assess potential topics and formats for ACC resources and programs, attend ACC and/or non-ACC educational events, both in-person and virtual.
Develop programs that can be presented at ACC events and/or speak at ACC events (such as Chapter events) to highlight ACC resources and or services.
Develop and ensure implementation of business plans relating to the production of ACC Education events to members, as needed.
Identify opportunities to develop ACC products and services to address the needs of in-house counsel.
Provide legal counsel and legal services to ACC including, but not limited to, drafting and reviewing contracts and policies for ACC, conducting organization-wide assessments, designing and delivering legal/compliance training for ACC staff, securing and managing assistance by outside counsel, as requested.
Supervise one Webcast Manager as well as independent contractors, vendors, law clerks, and temporary employees.
Education: Juris Doctorate
Program Development: Experience developing content and managing faculty for professional education events. Experience and familiarity with securing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) / Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits for programming is strongly preferred.
Project Management: Understands and applies principles of project management. Experience completing projects on time and under budget, and collaborating with and directing others. Understands expected outcomes and inspects work of others to ensure results match expectations before accepting work as final.
Legal: Study of international relations and international legal topics, including research and writing. Experience working and traveling outside of the U.S. preferred.
Language: Fluency in English and a second language required, with a preference for Arabic. Excellent verbal, written and problem solving skills, knowledge of international legal matters. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to get along with diverse constituencies and personalities, including the Board, members, committee chairs, chapter directors, staff, and contacts at external organizations. Candidate must demonstrate a genuine passion for delivering high-quality customer service to ACC members and stakeholders.
Writing Expertise: Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively through writing. Strong attention to detail required.
Initiative: Can successfully direct significant courses of action on behalf of ACC; can work with a high degree of independence, and make important and well thought-out decisions.
Can work with a high degree of independence on multiple simultaneous projects, as well as collaborate well with colleagues and other contacts. Can identify needs and problems and work effectively to fulfill or solve them. Can maintain composure and critical thinking skills under pressure.
