You will be the Company’s primary legal counsel for our Global Supply Chain function, providing legal support in relation to global product and services sourcing agreements. In addition, as a member of the leadership team for Global Supply Chain, you will provide on-going guidance and support to senior leaders on a variety of commercial legal, regulatory and compliance issues that arise in the day-to-day operations of a public, international, highly regulated company poised for significant growth. The opportunity to advance the company’s development of its sourcing strategy and contracting processes around execution of that strategy will be your ultimate goal.
Act as the primary lawyer for the Global Supply Chain management team, providing strategic legal guidance and business counseling.
Providing comprehensive legal counsel on a broad array of commercial legal and compliance matters as they arise. Proactively identifying and resolving such issues in collaboration with internal and external legal advisors.
Creating and updating contract templates based on best practices and evolving legal standards to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
Provide legal counseling pertaining to all aspects of commercial contracting, including providing guidance on, as well as negotiation, drafting and termination of supply contracts, services agreements, OEM and contract manufacturing agreements, confidentiality agreements and strategic partnerships.
Serve as the principal legal point of contact for all real estate matters, including reviewing and revising commercial real estate leases, the sale and purchase of real property for commercial purposes and, when necessary, engaging and supervising specialized real estate counsel.
Assist in mergers and acquisitions as well as the integration of newly acquired companies. Provide on-going guidance and support to ensure compliance with corporate legal obligations.
Keep abreast of developments in key regulatory areas impacting the Global Supply Chain function and the Company’s suppliers, including data privacy, medical device regulations and compliance standards, and regularly provide updates and training to cross-functional colleagues on these areas.
Maintain excellent internal channels of communication with business and functional leaders regarding legal and compliance issues impacting the Global Supply Chain function.
Develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with the Company’s business, its people, markets, facilities, customers and competitors in order to identify trends and formulate appropriate structures and strategies.

A law degree from a prominent and recognized institution
At least five (5) years’ experience practicing law, preferably with several years’ of experience with a premier law firm
Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and the personality, stature, and sense of humor to be able to work effectively with client groups at all levels
Several years of experience working in-house with a multi-national corporation, and in particular in the life sciences / medical device sector.
Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct.
The experience and confidence to push for change and, when appropriate, to challenge the status quo, in a way that will be heard and respected.
Proven ability to translate into clear business terms, and otherwise “demystifying” complex legal concepts for less legally sophisticated client groups.
A sophisticated understanding of business and commerce in order to ensure that a compliant environment is aligned with corporate business objectives.
The ability to effectively manage relationships with outside counsel to maximize the quality of representation and minimize legal expense.
Able to work collaboratively across multiple functions in a team environment to
implement complex programs; strong interpersonal skills; team player with ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels.
