The Enterprise KYC Executive will scale and manage USAA’s enterprise-wide Know Your Customer (KYC) program for anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing compliance. The KYC team will consist of three focus areas: managing the KYC policies and methodologies, overseeing and advising on KYC-related technology matters and handling KYC operations. We are seeking the right senior candidate to have a strategic, forward-looking vision to oversee the entire team. This role will require the appropriate person to maintain compliance with Federal AML regulations by having a well maintained, documented and managed KYC program. This role is a key leadership position on the Enterprise-wide AML team and will require collaboration and partnership with other key AML functional areas, as well as partnership with senior business leaders. Provide strategic direction on USAA’s KYC Program to help prevent money laundering during the various stages of a customer life cycle
Oversee the development and maintenance of Enterprise-wide KYC Standards (covering for example, compliance with CIP/CDD regulations, geography risk, and screening for negative news and Politically Exposed Persons) and the KYC questionnaires used by the various business lines within USAA
Oversee the development and maintenance of the Customer Risk Scoring Methodology
Oversee (together with IT professionals) the development, implementation and maintenance of Actimize CDD and legacy KYC systems, including the configurations for customer risk scoring. Align with USAA’s Agile framework in design, development and implementation.
Build and maintain data and analytics to support senior management and board reporting on the KYC program
Lead a team in the review and performance of Enhanced Due Diligence on higher risk customers and escalations related to Customer Due Diligence
Lead a team to advise on and assist in conducting Periodic and Event-driven Reviews
Lead a team to advise on and assist in conducting KYC remediation, as needed
Represent USAA on all KYC matters in communication with regulators and internal auditors
Bachelor's degree required.
4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
10 or more years in the compliance, operations or other relevant area
6 or more years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required.
Significant experience in execution of Compliance processes and procedures
Excellent writing and communication skills
Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals required.
Executive-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.
Preferred experience, skills and knowledge:
MBA or other advanced degree
Certified ACAMS (or equivalent)
Expertise in BSA/AML (specifically KYC) rules and regulations
At least 10 years of senior management-level experience in AML/CTF compliance at a finance institution, broker dealer or investment advisor or government regulator
At least 5 years of experience developing, implementing, operationalizing and scaling AML/CTF KYC policies and procedures
At least 10 years of team management experience, focusing on engagement, development and communication
Excellent critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills, and ability to influence at senior levels

Confident personality, creative and forward thinker possessing willing to generate, share and implement ideas
