Facebook seeks an experienced, highly motivated team player to serve as its Copyright Enforcement Manager to manage and coordinate Facebook’s copyright enforcement for video and music on global platforms. The Copyright Enforcement Manager must have deep operational enforcement experience, preferably for a company that balances enforcement objectives with community relationships. This position is full-time and will be located in our Menlo Park, CA headquarters or other Facebook office in North America.
Manage Facebook’s enforcement activities to protect its original video and music content off of Facebook on a variety of platforms, including social media, search engines, marketplaces, websites, domain names, and mobile apps, while ensuring consistency with Facebook policies.
Develop strong cross-functional partnerships, coordinate and support internal cross-functional teams, and manage and work with vendors and outside counsels.
Coordinate the development of, and help implement, optimal operational solutions to IP related challenges, and identify and fill outsourcing needs.
Create user manuals, process flows, templates, guidance and other documents to standardize and scale Facebook’s copyright management and enforcement activities.
Manage copyright registrations to support Facebook’s enforcement activities, including contract reviews, information gathering, and managing dockets and records related to these activities.
Measure and report on the effectiveness of Facebook’s enforcement activities.
Work in a fast-paced, high stakes environment managing a large and varied workload with minimal supervision, and be able to act quickly, decisively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate or 10+ years of experience at a law firm, in-house Legal or IP enforcement department, or at an IP-related service provider.
Operational and legal experience with intellectual property law and enforcement principles, such as the DMCA and the UDRP.
Experience being organized and detail-oriented, with analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking experience.
