Work closely with Director of Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Global IP Director on intellectual property (IP) licensing, enforcement, litigation, strategy and portfolio management matters, as well as on real estate and leasing, commercial contracts, compliance, corporate governance and litigation. There is an emphasis on partnering with a variety of different in-house clients, including U.S. and worldwide business and legal colleagues, across many departments, to provide practical advice and support on a wide range of issues.
Intellectual Property: Take active and strategic role in all IP matters, in collaboration with Gucci worldwide HQ IP team. Advise and partner with the business by providing day-to-day IP support and counseling relating to portfolio management (trademarks, trade dress, copyrights and design patents) and brand protection and enforcement matters. Collaborate with IP team members and outside counsel to develop trademark strategies and implement Gucci global IP strategy. Draft, review and analyze cease and desist letters, settlement agreements, registration application and opposition documents and other IP-related agreements and provisions. Support HQ IP team with clearance activities in connection with product and project launches. Prepare legal analyses, opinions, memoranda and assessments. Oversee anti-counterfeiting matters. Liaise with outside counsel on litigation and extraordinary IP matters.
Real Estate: Provide project management services on a wide range of real estate matters, including coordination of leasing, construction and insurance activities and addressing all lease interpretation issues related to existing and new store, storage and office leases. Draft, review and edit routine lease-related documents, such as lease amendments, extensions and estoppel certificates.
Commercial and Corporate: Draft, review and edit documents relating to commercial contracts and corporate governance and engage in routine negotiations with contract counterparties. Coordinate due diligence projects related to corporate and compliance activities and litigation matters.
Research and Implementation: Research and report on and assist in implementation of legal, regulatory and compliance-related matters of relevance to the company.

J.D. from top law school; must be admitted to, active and in good standing with, the New York State Bar.
5-8 years of IP and commercial experience with top law firm and/or corporate in-house department with strong background in IP.
Foreign language skills and international experience are a plus.
