OVERVIEW: Lallemand is seeking to fill the role of Director of Intellectual Property. Reporting to the Vice-President of Business Development, the successful candidate will work closely with the Vice-President of Business Development, the R&D organization, and external counsel to develop IP strategy and secure intellectual property protection for a dynamic, growing and innovative company. Daily responsibilities will include assessing the current state of the Company’s IP landscape both internally and externally, working with the R&D organization and management to develop IP strategy and expand IP portfolio, drafting and filing patents and reviewing IP-related contracts, including NDA’s, MTA’s and licensing agreements.

EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working in the field of intellectual property, with experience in developing global IP strategies in a consulting, corporate or law firm setting. The Director of Intellectual Property must have an advanced degree in a field related to bioengineering, biotechnology, metabolic engineering, genetics, chemistry or chemical engineering. Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is strongly preferred. A J.D. is preferred, but not required.
COMPENSATION: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
