The Chicago office seeks an attorney to work at the level of a second to fifth year associate to join its growing national management-side Employment, Labor and Workforce Management practice.
This position requires two to five years’ experience with federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., trade secret law, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws) and litigation experience in these areas.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to handle certain aspects of litigation with minimal supervision such as interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs, conducting and defending depositions, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending to certain court appearances. Experience providing advice and counsel on workplace law issues, including employee relations, mitigation of risk, ADA and other workplace accommodation, FINRA arbitrations, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies is also beneficial. Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Admission to practice law in Illinois is mandatory.
