The College Board, a leading global, educational non-profit whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity, is conducting a search for an Executive Director of Test Security.
Each year, the College Board helps more than seven million students prepare for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success - including the internationally recognized SAT and Advanced Placement Program. The College Board administers 3.5 million SAT and 5 million AP exams annually - and in order to further ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of our wide-reaching exam content, the College Board is seeking an Executive Director of Test Security to provide leadership in this vital area.
In this new and exciting role, the Executive Director of Test Security will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and tracking of comprehensive test security policies, procedures, and initiatives spanning across multiple programs and mediums. The Executive Director of Test Security will work cross-functionally and broadly to promote and foster a culture of security within the organization as well. This role reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel. The impact of this critical work will be felt across the testing process - from design to administration to scoring and beyond.
Partner with testing programs across the organization to understand and assess all current and potential test security risk areas across multiple dimensions - test timeline, stakeholder, type of risk, etc.
Work closely with College Board and testing program leadership to innovate, develop, and drive test security strategy globally and locally.
Specifically, work with College Board testing programs in setting and implementing test security policy and activity around prevention, deterrence, detection, mitigation, and investigation.
Promote the inclusion of test security elements in the strategic planning for all College Board testing programs and platforms.
Exercise leadership, tenacity, and solution-orientation in the investigation of high-profile security incidents working with legal counsel and the testing program management team.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the latest technological advances and emerging best practices related to test security and ensure their incorporation in College Board testing programs planning and implementation.
Recommend and implement technology, process improvements, and corrective actions to support security policies across all relevant business units with the goal of enhancing protection against and detection of test security breaches - "out of the box" thinking encouraged.
Oversee and engage techniques like forensic data analysis, statistical modeling, and data algorithms to detect patterns of aberrance (anomalies, outliers, person-fit mismatch, candidate demographic analysis, etc.).
Negotiate with and oversee select related vendors.
Facilitate the development of a culture of test security throughout the College Board organization.
Serve as the front face of the College Board in public or media situations, as it relates to test security and/or test security incidents.
Bachelor's Degree required.
7+ years' progressively responsible work experience.
Training in law enforcement, litigation, compliance, information security, assessment, or operations preferred.
Experience with organizational transformation, including the development and implementation of effective operating models in large-scale complex organizations.
